USALT

Father Eduardo Perez,  O.S.A. conceived and brought  into  reality  the  U.S.A. Little Theater. He formed four committees:  production, research, talent and finance.  Each committee was headed by a faculty member with Miss Sinforosa Yasa as general chairman. In a short time, the Little Theater came out with the first play Sino Ba Kayo. Throughout its long years of existence, USALT has presented various  socially relevant plays. Currently under the Artistic Direction of Director Eric Divinagracia, USALT consistently explores ways to tell exciting and meaningful stories of our times.

THE USA PUBLICATIONS

Throughout the second half of the seventies to the early part of the eighties, the USA Publications - the Augustinian Mirror and the Augustinian - under the expert guidance and direction of Mrs. Anita Bellosillo, who was moderator from 1976-1991 continued to live up to its reputation as the foremost publication of the University in particular and Region VI in general.

THE USA CHOIR

The University of San Agustin choir started as the off shoot of a small singing group called "The Song Weavers"  under the direction of Father Angel Dulanto, O.S.A. In  1974,  Father  Ezcurra  formed  another  special  group  called  "The  Troubadours".  This  group,  undoubtedly  the finest in the USA Conservatory of Music, has been considered the  best  and  used  to  perform during special occasions only.  Both singing  groups have maintained their impressive reputation in music when Dean Salvacion Jardenil and Mr Gerardo  Muyuela took over from Father Ezcurra.

Father Dolse Garcia, O.S.A., Rector of the Colegio de San  Agustin could aptly be called the "Father of the U.S.A. Band". He was responsible for the organization of the band in 1935 and placed  as its first moderator, Father Dario Casado, O.S.A., with Mr.  Ignacio ltura as its first band conductor. The band became well known for its excellent performance due to the untiring efforts of  Mr. Altura. Today, the USA Band.

USA KAWILIHAN DANCE TROUPE

The Kawilihan USA Dance Troupe was formed in July 1960, an offshoot of the intensive drive of Father Nicanor Lana, O.S.A., Chairman of co-curricular activities, and Father Luis  Merino, O.S.A, registrar, to tap and further hone  talented students. Mrs. Dolores Ravena was appointed its first directress.

The troupe had its first presentation during the feast day of Saint Augustine  in  196J). Its impressive performance was followed by a series of shows in many parts  of Iloilo which came to know about the Kawilihan, in no time at all.
